More Roger FINALLY!
After a couple of years, I suddenly figured out how to get back into all my blogs! Including Roger's.
And the timing is perfect as I just have released a new book--The Friendship Book--with a story from Roger called "Visiting Friends."
Here's the info on the new book and some free eBook downloads for the holidays.
The Friendship Book can now be ordered as a paperback
pre-Christmas. Takes about 10 days to arrive so do it soon. The paperback is $5.99. if you have
Amazon Prime, you get free shipping…and often get to read the eBooks for free.)
The eBook is 99 cents and can be ordered for yourself,
loaned to one friend at a time, or you can buy eBooks and give as gifts. (The
plus to an ebook, aside from the price, is that photos are all in color and
that you can give them up to a day or two before Christmas/Hannukah.)

Until Wednesday 11/29, the free eBook download is
my husband’s children’s book Magical Christmas Pizza. I did the
illustrations. This is the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018561DV0
Free eBook for 12/2 to 12/6 is Gratitude. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EWBMZZU
Free eBook for 12/9 to 12/13 is The Holiday Sampler we
did last year. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MTK90AG
My eBook called Merry Christmas was on free download last week but is 99 cents https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019GIVS2U. My mother wrote and painted this little book for my sister
and me at my 3rd Christmas (1952).
As always, I LOVE ❤ ❤❤❤❤ reviews. Five star reviews
with praise are a great way to help these books attain good search function and
to protect them from trolls or haters. If you can’t give any eBook 5 stars,
please tell me why in an email (NOT in a review online) and I’ll determine if I
that’s a change I can make so that you can give it a good review! My email is ariele@comcast.net.
Happy, happy Holidays and thanks for being a friend! Ariele

| Roger and Francie on their wedding day...together again. |
Dedicated to Fran, Francy, Francie—
wife, lover, mother, friend.
Thank you for reminding me that every
day is a gift
we get to hold only for 24 hours.
The only thing that matters is helping
others to feel better
just by giving a smile, a hug or a song.
Those are the ones we will remember
every day from now on.
Francie, you are the gift I open every
new day
and happily take along with me.
I have loved you all day long for so
long—66 years—a God given gift.
Look out, Francie.
Here I come.

Wyoming: A to Z
Wyoming: A to Z
Antelope lying in the Wyoming sun—
Baby fawn jumping over its mom—
Carrying ancient Indian reads—
Desert horny toads soaking up the sun—
Everyone enjoying the sun—
Fish jumping in the stream—
Getting one for breakfast…really fun—
How can one guy be so lucky to be born and raised in
such a land?
Into every day comes the wonder of sky and plain. You
can see for a hundred miles.
Just in case you ever travel this way, stop. Put your
feet on Wyoming soil, and talk to the wind as it swirls around you.
Keep your nose working. The heavenly smells of clean
pure air will revive your breathing system.
Leave nothing to chance. Go ahead and have a Wyoming
romance.
Many have gone ahead of you. Some with red skins and
left arrowheads for you to find.
Never say “never” when you are asked, “When are you
coming again?” Just say “soon.”
Over hill and trail, ride a saddle horse and enjoy
your day.
Please look up to the sky. You will be forced to say,
“My, oh my.”
Quiet and silent and as gentle as a mother’s hand is
this magic land.
Roger is watching, even when he is far away. For his
mind is there every day.
So don’t stay away; your soul needs a Wyoming song.
Take your time, for Wyoming can be yours and mine.
Under no circumstance will you have a reason to say,
“Wyoming has let me down.”
Victory is yours every day you live in this Wyoming
Wonderland.
With a wide open heart, this Wyoming trip will set
you apart.
X and O are often used to brand sheep, horses, and
cattle. Just wanted you to know.
Yesterday is never mentioned for Wyoming people live
for today.
Z is famous in the winter when temps go below zero.
Welcome to Wyoming the Wonderland.

Learning to Drive
Learning to Drive
My mother was about 45 years old when my brother purchased a
used Chevrolet two-seater. When brother was a work, Mother decided she was
going to learn how to drive.
She loaded me (six years old) and my younger brother Cy into
the back seat and got the car started. It was parked on a flat area in front of
the house. She found reverse gear and had the clutch pushed in. When she took
her foot off the clutch pedal, the car zoomed backwards—crosswise in the road.
The engine stopped. She restarted the car, found low gear and released the
clutch. We were going down the hill—both sides of the road.
She finally got us on the right side of the road and away we
did go—two little ones in the back, crying and wailing to get out. Mother turned
a deaf ear to us.
Somehow, we made it to her sister’s house. The trip home was
much better. Mom was getting used to the clutch and gas pedal—really doing
pretty good. When we got to the hill, she stopped at the bottom, put the car in
gear, and up we went.
She drove past our parking spot, turned onto the driveway to
the garage, missed the brake but hit the gas!
Letting go of the wheel, she began hollering for Jesus to help us. The
car swung left—across the lawn which put the hood right into the living room.
This was the last time my mother ever wanted or tried to
drive!

“Married Young”
by Roger Wilson
I found it amazing to be a teenager: living and laughing in our own world. Where
did all that confidence come from? No problem seemed too big or too difficult
for a young lady of 17 and a guy of 19.
We needed a place to live. We found a small old house on a
beautiful lot with a great view of the Sound. We talked the owner into selling
it to us for $2500—nothing down and $25 a month!
Together, we knocked all the plaster off the bedroom wall,
put a new ceiling in, insulated the walls, went back with sheet rock and a nice
paint job.
House was on its way to becoming our home.
The kitchen was next with bright wall paper, a wood cook
stove with a new coating of black, and a new sink. Many warm happy hours were
spent there.
Room by room, we made a home. It was this old house that
taught us what it meant to be married and in love, and what it meant to be
happy.

Finding myself with a blog is so amazing.
When I was born, people were still holding a piece of coal
up to their ears to listen to a radio broadcast. [Early microphones and hearing
aids used bits of carbon—like those in a piece of coal—to help transmit noises
more clearly.]
People held their breath, turned the coal pieces carefully, and
really listened, though what they heard was only a word here and there—and a
lot of humming.
What a big event when my family got our first radio! It had a green
eye that glowed when it was on, and we watched that glowing eye as we enjoyed Fibber McGee and Mollie and The Shadow. Only the Shadow “knows what
evil lurks in the hearts of men.”
Today, my blog has put my writing out to a worldwide
audience. People have been so kind. As I read their comments, I have a real
appreciation for being able to find someone who needed a smile, someone who
might say, “Right on, Roger!”
Thank you, one and all for tuning in and for asking me to
write more.
I now have friends on a worldwide basis…and none of us has
to hold our breath to hear each other’s thoughts!
Thank you, and hope you had a Merry Christmas and wishing
you a happy New Year,
Roger Wilson
